Each absolute data table presented below has been independently reviewed in accordance with the International Standard on Assurance Engagements (ISAE) 3000 reporting standard. Gildan uses the “operational control” approach to establish its organizational boundary. Specifically, the assurance scope covered the following 2016 performance data: annual energy, water, effluent and waste usage, scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas and inorganic gas emissions, and refrigerants.

In addition, two tables are presented for each metric being reported. The first table includes the measure of our performance from 2010 to 2015, which was when we 1st began to establish and report on our sustainability performance. The 2nd table is representative of our current performance towards our newly issued 2020 goals.

It is important to note, that the 2015 data presented in each of the tables varies from one to the other as the 2015 data presented in the second table (2015-2016 data) has been back casted/re-baselined from the 2016 data to account for mergers, acquisitions and divestures for that year. For more details on the methodology used for baseline adjustment, please refer to our reporting section

The environmental data included in this section represent 92.9% of Gildan’s total vertically integrated operations.
